How registration works
The UEEH receives a large number of registrations requests every year. Our current capacity is limited (200 simultaneous places), so we have to turn down many people; so far, only those who register the quickest stand a chance of getting a place.
This “first come, first served” system is unfair for a number of reasons:
- Those who already know that they have to be there as soon as registration opens are at an advantage.
- Those who struggle with computers, writing or language are at a disadvantage.
- Those who are not available on the day registration opens have no chance.
For more fairness, we’re changing this system: places for the 2025 edition of the UEEH will be allocated by drawing lots (at random). When registrations open on June 15 at 3 PM, you’ll have one week to pre-register through the online form.
⚠️ Answering the form on time is mandatory to be able to participate in the UEEH. People who didn’t register will not get a place.
On June 22 at 3 PM, the pre-registration form will be permanently closed, and the list of pre-registrants will be randomly sorted. This is the draw. The people at the top of the list will have a place, and all others will be put on a waiting list.
There will be a system of prioritization, see “Priorities”.
Those who have secured a place will receive a registration form, and will have one week (until Sunday June 29 at 3 PM) to reply to confirm their registration.
If someone doesn’t complete their registration on time (within a week after receiving the form) or cancels their registration, their pre-registration will be removed and their place will be offered to someone else on the waiting list.
The waiting list will also be advanced according to the dates you have chosen. If you are at the top of the waiting list but there are no more places available for your chosen dates, we may contact you to suggest other dates. Otherwise, you will remain at the top of the waiting list until your preferred dates become available.
Places
The number of places in the high school is limited to 200 people.
For logistical reasons and political choices, a hundred or so places are blocked in advance for:
- The International Commission (including local coordinators).
- Members of the organizing team.
- Members of KFC (the team that coordinates cooking).
- Members of [[bla]](https://bla.potager.org/), who are accompanying us with interpreting.
- Outside speakers (for workshops, screenings, etc.).
Priorities
Among the remaining places, at least 60 % are reserved to people:
- BIPOC / who experience racism and/or
- Transfem / who experience transmisogyny and/or
- Disabled / who experience ableism and/or
- Who are older than 50
These priorities have been in place at UEEH since 2022 (although they have evolved since then), and are being applied again in 2025.
These situations were chosen because, in our society, they can lead to precarity and also to isolation within LGBTQIA+ communities. We want the people in our communities who need social spaces like the UEEH the most to have more chances to participate.
Of course, being into one or more of these categories does not mean that you are isolated or in a precarious situation. Therefore, it’s optional: the people concerned can decide not to benefit from prioritization.
There will be a first draw reserved to people with priority, in which 60% of the places will be attributed. The remaining places will be attributed in a second draw, that will include everyone who pre-registered (with priority or not) and who did not already obtain a place.
The draw will be weighted (rigged) to favor those with priority, or organized in separate draws, so that the number of priority places is guaranteed.
Registering as a group
When registering, it is possible to indicate that you are coming with other people. This option is intended for people who need to be together or accompanied in order to be able to come in good conditions.
If you register with other people, you are forming a group. Either the whole group is taken, or no one is taken.
In the draw, the group carries as much weight as an individual person; coming as a group doesn’t increase your chances of getting a place (nor does it reduce them).
We encourage you to keep your group to a maximum of 3 people; if you need to be more, please contact us after registering to discuss your needs.

Beware of e-mails
To make sure you receive your e-mails, take care to :
- Use a valid e-mail address that you check regularly (at least every 2 or 3 days, if possible).
- Add registration@ueeh.net to your mailbox contacts, so that our emails have a better chance of landing in your inbox.
Otherwise, you risk not seeing our e-mails in time and losing your place.
When you fill in the pre-registration form, we’ll send you a confirmation e-mail within 10 minutes. Make sure you’ve received it! If you have any problems, please contact us by e-mail.
Accessibility
We are doing our best to provide registration tools that are accessible to all, especially for people with specific needs and users of assistive technology. However, answering the forms may still prove difficult.
If that’s your case, reach out to us by email at registration [@] ueeh.net and explain your difficulties. We can help you fill the form, for instance by asking you the questions over text, email or phone call, or by finding other solutions suitable for your needs.
