2025 theme : Resisting authoritarianism

Resisting authoritarianism

The UEEH is a self-organized space that we create collectively to free our minds and escape for a few days from the pressures of everyday life. A place for political reflection, for encounters, for exchanges and networking across borders.

For 2025, we want to think together about how to fight authoritarianism. Whether in the face of sexist and homophobic attacks, repressive policies (anti-trans, anti-abortion, racist laws), pink-washing by companies and governments, or censorship and fake news… queer people and marginalized communities live under constant regimes of pressure.

It’s time to face up to it.

Together, let’s mourn our dead, dry our tears and pay our respects.
Let’s share our self-defense techniques, let us hone our queer strategies for sabotaging authoritarianism.
Let’s share our ways of healing, recovering and loving.
Let’s take the time to breathe, laugh, dance and sing to resist.
Let’s share our emancipatory practices: our ideas for resisting repression, for deconstructing hate speech, for discussing validist issues.
And all this, starting with ourselves: wearing our feminisms, our LGBTQIA+ identities, our decolonial spectacles, our anti-racist boots, our baggage of struggles.

This summer, we want to hear a multiplicity of voices: voices of the South, of internationalists, of people with disabilities, of racialized people, of poor people… How can we strengthen our solidarity? How can we build bridges with queer communities living in war zones? How can we make the diversity of our struggles resonate, from the South to the North?

We hope that the workshops, the International Forum, as well as the forums of the South and the North can be used by everyone. We want you to have the space to bring your questions, doubts and ideas. For this year’s event, we see the International Forum as a central axis, around which workshops, discussions and exchange sessions will be organized.

We also know that convivial moments will arise, other opportunities to continue inventing our lives, our bodies and our desires.

The working group Educpop is here to help you structure your content proposals. Don’t hesitate to contact us to submit a discussion or workshop. We look forward to hearing from you at educpop [at] ueeh.net.
