Registration fees for UEEH 2026

Introduction to the fees

The UEEH expenses are largely covered by participants’ registrations. Each participant pay for their registration to the UEEH. This includes organizers and invitees, who are volunteer (no one gets paid!) and pay the same as everyone else.

Association membership

The UEEH are a registered association (French non-profit organization). For administrative and insurance purposes, it is mandatory that all participants join the association.

To join, you need to fill a membership form and pay a fee. That fee costs either €5 (reduced), €15 (standard) or €25 (support).

It is possible to join in advance (with a link that will be sent by email to participants), or on site on the day of your arrival.

The membership fee is distinct from the registration fee; that way you can pay for the registration fee separately if you want.

Recommended price

The registration fee allows to pay for the accommodation, renting the place, the food, the insurance, the material we use, and so on (see FAQ on the registration fees).

We have a pay-what-you-want model (see FAQ on the registration fees). The « median » recommended price is a fixed part of €35 + €27 per night, with possible adjustments: we suggest 2 reduced pricings (at -30% and -60%) and 2 support pricings (at +30% and +60%).

These fees are recommendations: it’s possible to pay less, more, or somewhere in between. There’s a minimum price, at -75% (compared to the median recommended fee), which is €8.75 (fixed part) + €6.75 per night. It’s not possible to pay less, unless you benefit from a discount or qualify for a free registration.

The different fees

To participate in the UEEH, you need to pay a membership fee (between €5 and €25) plus the pricing of your registration, calculated this way:

These fees include accommodation, food and insurance.

Drinks at the bar are not included in the fee.

Fees are recommendations, it is possible to pay an in-between, or more, or less (but not below the minimum fee, except for people eligible for a discount or for a free registration).

We advise you to stay for the whole edition if you have the possibility to do so, as it allows you to be more numerous for the installation and de-installation and to build a better collective dynamic.

Adjustments, discounts and free registrations

Adjustments

People who live in a country other than France will see their recommended fees adjusted based on the GNI PPP (gross national income at purchasing power parity) per capita of their country of residence (data source: world bank).

Discounts

For people experiencing racism (including: negrophobia, antisemitism, islamophobia…), disabled people, and/or transfeminine/transfemme can benefit, if they want to, from a reduction of 20%.

Free registrations

People who live in a « Global South » country and people with a migratory background living in a European country that does not accord them the papers necessary to work are eligible, if they want, for a free registration (€0 fee).

Fee example

In this example, I want to stay for 8 days (7 nights) at the UEEH.

If I live in France, the suggested fees will be: reduced+ (€89.60), reduced (€156.80), median (€224.00), support (€291.20), support+ (€358.40). I can also choose how much I pay (but the minimum will be €56.00).

I choose how much I pay: I can pay one of the suggested fees, or something in between (for instance €175), or less if my situation is difficult (for instance €65), or more if I can afford it.

Another example: if I live in Greece, where the GNI PPP per capita is lower than France’s by %32.15, the suggested fees will be: reduced+ (€56.99), reduced (€99.74), median (€151.98), support (€185.23), support+ (€227.98). I can also choose how much I pay (but the minimum will be €35.62).
