UEEH 2025 Pre-program

The 2025 edition of the Université d’Été Euroméditerranéenne des Homosexualités is fast approaching! Here is all you need to know on the program and the course of the UEEH.

If you didn’t get a seat for this year’s event, you will still be able to listen to some of the workshops, which will be broadcasted by Radio Galère (FM 88.4 in Marseille) and on our website as a webradio or as a podcast. Stay tuned!

Also, we are sharing again our crowdfunding campaign to support the UEEH’s International Commission. All information is at the end of this text. Thanks! <3

Useful information on the program

Most of the UEEH’s program is put together on site, under the self-management of all participants. We all can propose ideas for workshops or discussions, and get support to realize these projects, so that the event’s content matches our wants, our needs, and our expectations.

A pre-program is prepared ahead of the event by the ÉducPop commission around the theme of this year’s UEEH: Resisting authoritarianism (we invite you to read it). This theme is an invitation to meet, exchange and connect to face together the pressure regimes affecting queer people and marginalized communities.

The International Forum will take place during the edition. It’s a key part and a highlight of the UEEH, that takes place over a few days. The aim is to share experiences and build international links.

For those who participated in previous editions: this year, the format of the International Forum is evolving in order to be more interactive/participatory, and so that we have more time to work together and that it blends better with all the workshops.

There will be three (3) thematic workshop rooms and also generalist workshop rooms, and it will be possible to hold mixed and non-mixed workshops for different audiences.

Every other night there are announcements. It’s a time during which we read short messages from the announcements box, that any participant can write. It’s a time of expression, but also of group cohesion. We can share information, experiences lived during the event, ask questions, express needs, suggest activities for the next days, etc.

All this relies on the participation on all the people present, as we operate following self-management principles. This implies that we all get involved. It’s also important that we have convivial, more informal times to take a breather. Feel free to suggest discussions and workshops, but also parties by writing to educpop@ueeh.net.

Health at UEEH

A health team will be present on site for first aid or help with the management of everyday health problems, with trained and untrained people.

A space will be dedicated to health and anti-ableism with a zine library and harm reduction material about sexual health and substance use, as well as a first aid kit and medicine. This space will also be able to host health-related workshops and massages.

It will be possible to make an appointment on site to discuss sexual health issues in private with a specialist, and to get screened (HIV, hepatitis B and C) for free.

Throughout the event

This year, the UEEH welcome:

  • The Zinothèque 14, a zine library that will be in the reception area.

  • The l’Amour Toujours library truck, that will be under the trees.

  • A game library, in the ÉducPop room.

  • A radio space in one of the workshop rooms: a radio team from the Radiorageuses nebula will be at the UEEH.

    • Every two days, a one-hour discussion will be broadcast live on Radio Galère (nonprofit radio from Marseille) and on the UEEH website, around the main themes of the UEEH.
    • A mobile studio will also be at your disposal for you to register your voices, create programs and distribute them later. Workshops like Crackles from the struggles are planned to get started with sound recording.
    • An audio library is also under construction: if you have programs to share (in any language!), tell us at educpop@ueeh.net. The mic is open to all, in your language of choice!

The International Commission needs support!

One last thing!

The International Commission is the group that works so that participants living outside Europe can come to the edition.

This year we are keeping up this work with coordinations from Maghreb, Middle East, West and East Africa, Asia.

To make the event as accessible as possible to international participants, we have set up a fundraising campaign. We need sharing and financial support!
