News of may 2024
Hello everyone,
The UEEH commissions met at the beginning of April for a 4th orga weekend, at Les Tanneries in Dijon. We’ve made good progress on the 2024 edition, and have a lot to announce today.
The dates
The UEEH 2024 will take place from Friday August 9 to Monday August 19, at the Lycée agricole et forestier Jean Monnet, in Vic-en-Bigorre (65500), France.
To facilitate the running of the event, we propose this year to have only four days on which it will be possible to arrive on site: Friday August 9, Saturday August 10, Wednesday August 14 and Thursday August 15.
Registration
Registration opens on Sunday, June 16, at 3 p.m. You’ll find the registration link on our website!
The new website
The UEEH has a new website, still at the same address ueeh.net! More attractive, more accessible, clearer, we hope it will be easier for everyone to find the information they want. We’ve updated most of the out-of-date information on the website, and are currently working on translating it into English, Castilian and Arabic.
However, we would like to have more archives and images. We invite anyone who would like to do so to send us their photos, whether taken during recent editions or not, by e-mail to contact@ueeh.net! Please specify the year, and also your name if you wish to be credited for the photo. If you see people in the photos, please make sure you have their permission to distribute them, or blur or crop them out before sending them to us.
The theme
As you may have already read in the EDUCPOP committee announcement, this year’s theme is “ The margins against violence: sharing stories and tools ”. The EDUCPOP commission also offers a guide to setting up workshops, so don’t hesitate to contact them at educpop@ueeh.net!
Message from the COMIN
This year, we are continuing this work with coordinators from the Maghreb, the Middle East, West and East Africa, and Asia. The team has grown to include three new coordinations: in Colombia, Mexico and Sri Lanka! To make publishing as accessible as possible, we need financial support. Recruitment message for the welcome group
We need 4 people who would be willing to be briefed upstream to help us welcome participants. If you’re motivated and can commit to being there on August 9 at around noon to do the whole event, you can send an e-mail to contact@ueeh.net, with the subject line “ welcome help ”, to help us find her! We’ll reserve a place for you.
Of course, it’s going to take a lot of social energy at the beginning of the edition and in the middle. It’s all about welcoming people and giving them the initial info they need when they arrive. Thank you ❤️
Recruitment message for an evenings group
To better organize this year’s evening events and programming, we’re hoping to set up an evening group to take charge! There’s already one person who wants to get involved but who won’t be able to do it alone.
